Making moving easy.

If you’re anything like me, you love the idea of moving house but the actual process is a nightmare. Between packing everything up, moving to the new house, sorting out all of the house admin and then unpacking at the new place; it can be a nightmare. Don’t get me wrong, it’s usually worth it in order to start a new adventure but it can seem like a tiresome process. I have moved house a few times now so wanted to share some tips with you to hopefully help.

Get Organised

The best advice that can be given to anyone moving is to get organised. Whether you’re moving office premises or relocating to a new home being organised is the key to ensuring that it all runs smoothly. This means, looking in advance to see about moving utilities, cancelling broadband, setting up a TV service at your new address etc.

Getting good move out cleaners will save you a lot of stress so you can focus on getting into your new home. Once you have all your things out of the old place you’ll often find it’s in need of a deep clean so a good team is a must. I would keep a note pad and pen nearby so you can write things down as you think of them and keep track of a list you can tick off as you go – helps to make the whole process easy.

Hire Help

DO NOT TRY TO DO IT ALL YOURSELF. I repeat – do not try to do it all yourself. Trust me, when you come to pack all of your stuff and do the trip ‘in a couple of car journeys’ you’ll always have more than you think. I have also roped in friends and family to help; on top of that professional movers are the way forward. When you hire a company that specialises in home moves you know that you’re getting the full package. Not only do they have the equipment and packing materials to make sure that all of your stuff stays safe, they also have the experience. You just need to find Quality house removals in London, get them on your list for sorting out in advance; popular services in an area can get booked up quick.

Don’t Panic

Moving day can be stressful, but just remember that it will all work out in the end. Make sure you have a box of supplies that you’ll need for the day so it doesn’t get lost in the middle of the rest of your home move clutter – phone charger, drinks, snacks, pen and paper etc. Then, just let the day progress. Keep in touch with everyone that is helping with your move, because they can let you know what is happening and what is next. However, whatever happens doesn’t panic – there’s only so much you can do and with the best will in the world, you can’t do it all.

Once you’re in your new house unpack at your leisure, get exploring the local area and make the most of your new home.
