Wild Thing I Think I love You.

I bought this leopard print Alice and You swing dress from ASOS at the end of last year and I have no idea why I haven’t mentioned it til now.

Its such a lovely dress, Its my first ever swing dress and I wasn’t too sure at first because I have massive boobs and was a little worried that it might look funny but since I am such a fan of leopard print I had to have it and now i am really glad that i got it.

I wanted to write this post so all you big busted ladies who are unsure about swing dresses can see what it looks like on someone my size..

This will be a very picture heavy post as there is not all that much to say… just have a look and see what you think.

I might actually prefer this dress with a belt around the middle to give it a bit more shape, but I was happy wearing it like this for the evening.

The bag is from the Zara basic range.
I just have on a pair of black leggings and a pair of brown ankle boots from Evans
I wore my old Evans stud detailed biker jacket.

Yup!!! I prefer this dress when its given some shape… Defo think I will try it with a belt next time.

Wow… looks like I have a waist lol
On my face I stuck to browns and black to tie in with the animal print in the dress. I kept my lips neutral as the eye makeup is the focus.

A pic of me with X Factor’s ‘Brick City’ at an Art fund raising event

I hope people actually enjoy reading my posts or at least find them a little helpful xxxx

Putting on my big girls pants.

A company that I love, that offer plus size women great quality and an extensive range of hosiery and under garments are The Big Bloomers Company.
They have pieces in their range that start at a size 12 and go all the way up to a size 42
Being at the larger end of plus size this is perfect for me.

A problem a lot of women have, not just plus size women, but also women with large thighs, is chafing. The big Bloomers Company sent me a pair of their Anti-Chafing Knickers to try out and I was pleasantly surprised. I chose the long leg version in black as I wanted something a little longer so I would be able to wear skirts without leggings and not worry so much about the wind showing everyone my secrets lol.

I could argue these are more like an anti chafing cycling short as I wore them with knickers underneath.

The material is super stretchy and super comfortable, you could even size down if you wanted a little support.

not the best pic but you can get an idea of the length on me. (and they are pulled all the way up over my tummy)

I am a shorty, standing at a pint sized 5ft 2″ so these came up quite long on me but the fabric allows for manipulation so I ended pulling the legs up a bit and they were still totally comfortable.

I love that I can wear these under a skirt in the summer without them showing and still avoid ‘chub rub’ but i wont be embarrassed if the wind does blow up my floaty skirts and dresses.
These are going to come in so handy for the summer, the material is so comfortable between the thighs.
If you are a shorty like me I suggest getting the short legged version.
Have you tried any of their other products? Do you have any recommendations?
Thanks for reading guys xxx

My Primark Treasures!!! VIDEO!!

Good day ladies 🙂
People always seem really surprised when I say I buy clothes from Primark… not because its Primark but because I wear a UK size 30/32 and Primark do clothes up to a size 20!
I have made a Plus Size Primark Haul Video!

I would really like it if you would watch the video but I’m going to put up a few pics of some of the tops that I picked up over the last week just so you can see that there are some things that we women at the bigger end of plus size can pick up for fantastic prices that are still super on trend <3
I’m going to start with my favourite Primark Purchase

Black floaty Crop top, UK size 18!!!
They have this in black, Cream and Pink
£3 in Primark.
I love how girly a floaty this top is, its really fun and swishy
This is an oversized loungy crop top that has super droopy arm holes,
This is a size 20! and is also £3 in Primark at the moment,
They have this one is Black, white, purple and a neon orange.
Guns N Roses oversized T dress.
This is a long Tee that I have put a midi skirt over.
This is a UK size 20 and sells for £8
I don’t want to go into too much detail about these items as I plan to blog about them individually in outfit posts at some point.
I just want to show that there are a lot of options available to bigger girls in stores that don’t stock our size.
It really is all about just going in and have a good look and a good feel of fabrics and knowing your body well enough to know what will and won’t work for you.
I literally go into Primark and give the clothes a good pull and stretch and I always find items that work.
I hope you find this post helpful and I hope you like the items that I picked up.
If I had to recommend one item I would say definitely pick up that floaty crop top as it is sooooo lovely and its only Three squids!!!!!
You can see what else I picked up in my haul video if you haven’t already.
Thanks for reading guys….

Yours skirt is now my skirt!

Really quick confession post…
I was up in the Midlands house hunting with my boyfriend and we have decided on a totally new area to live in so the house search has to start from scratch…. I have been saving for a while now and decided to get involved in the #shopmywardrobeforlent and not buy any new clothes. Since we have chosen a new area to live in we have pushed our moving date back by Approx. 4 weeks (which means more time to save) So I decided to treat myself and buy a couple of items of clothing
(#brokemyspendingban) lol
Saw this lovely skirt in the Yours Derby store and had to try it on!
I dont have very many maxi skirts but I fell in love with this one, Cant wait to wear it properly, probably with a vest top, converse and a denim jacket <3
I love the thick elastic waistband, It reminds me a lot of the waistband on the Scarlett and Jo Floral prom dress that everyone has been drooling over recently.
Closer look at the waistband.
(This is a size 18 top from Primark that I picked up and will talk about in a later post, I have tucked it up so you can see the skirts waitband)
Broke the spending ban quite badly…. but guess what,,,, I dont feel any guilt at all, I am very happy with everything I bought.
Stay tuned this week to see what else was in those bags!!!!!!

Blooming good tights!

Blooming Good Tights!
Last week I was really kindly sent a pair of cotton tights from The Big Bloomers Company, I was really excited about this because this is the first time I have ever seen thick cotton tights available in such a large size. Normally tights that are advertised as being in my size I still struggle with but I was assured but Laura from the company that they are really really stretchy. …And they are… when I received them and took them out of the packet I was so surprised at just how much stretch there was to them and because they are so thick the they don’t turn transparent.
These are so perfect for the cold months that we are experiencing at the moment.
The tops of my legs are massive and I thought I would have trouble getting the tights up high enough, the brief part of the tights could have come up higher but that is purely due to my mega thighs but is not a issue for me at all as I wont be wearing them with any mini skirts lol
The waistband of the tights are pulled up really high and is really stretchy and comfortable and is not tight at all in the slightest.
I got these tights in the largest size available as I wear a size 32 and they are perfect, they are so comfortable and well made, I wasn’t concerned about ruining them while putting them on or sitting down carefully so I didn’t burst out of them lol
These tights have provided me with a welcome break from wearing leggings with everything and I still get to have warm legs.
I am not a fan of thin tights at all as they always end up being one wear only as by the end of the night I have destroyed them. These cotton tights are a welcome addition to plus size fashion if you ask me and I will be shouting about them from the mountain tops!
I would say that this is the best pair of tights that I have ever owned and will be getting another pair asap.
They have solved a problem for me that I know a lot of plus size women have, especially women at the higher end of plus size like I am.
What other items would you all like to see available in plus size hosiery??
I’d quite like to see more patterned tights available in bigger sizes <3

Plus London market bargain!

On Friday evening I went to the Plus London plus size market evening. I signed up to be a seller and initially I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t think there would be many people as big as I am buying or selling.
I was pleasantly surprised that there was plenty there for me and I made out like a bandit.
One item in particular I picked up before the event even started, I bought from fellow blogger naomi from diamonds ‘n’ pearls.  A lovely beige cropped new look jumper for £3. The day after the event I was travelling up north for a couple days so I chucked the jumper and a scarf I picked up for 50p in with the rest of my luggage.  I was sooo happy with the jumper I ended up wearing it all the time with everything.  Kinda handy that it was freezing up in Derbyshire so I got to wear the hell out of the jumper. I’m surprised the jumper fit so well as its a size 24 and I’m not lol. I’m guessing it was made to be really oversized but I really like the way it fits!

I think the plus size market was such a good idea there were so much clothes and accesories and I would definitely take part again. I picked up so many pieces that i’m extremely happy with and will be blogging about over the next few days.

Ms Curvaceous UK

Ms Curvaceous UK 2013

On Sunday I attended Ms Curvaceous UK at the Camden Centre in Kings Cross.

This event was unlike any of the other fashion/bloggers events that I have been to recently, as soon as I walked in I was greeted with the smell of West Indian food and immediately thought of my childhood, I straight away bumped into some familiar faces which pleased me no end

Syreeta Badu fashion designer, Gemma Cruickshank fashion designer, Hollie Pretty Big Butterfies, and Debz Wannabe Princess
I wasn’t sure what to wear to the event so I ended up keeping the outfit really simple and focusing on the makeup. I wore an Evans skater dress, leggings and a pair of flat brown ankle boots again from Evans

The jacket/cape is from Topshop… and will feature in a future UCantWearThat Blog Post!

I enjoyed the whole night, the fashion, food and entertainment were all fantastic.

There were performances by Bashy, James Anderson, Che Lingo and Afro Beats artist Ezi Emela (who I really really enjoyed)

Ezi Emela – My favourite performance of the night

There were 18 beautiful finalists competing for the title of Ms Curvaceous and it was lovely to see them all walking the runway in some amazing fashions from Syreeta Badu, Dea London.

Above are my personal faves from the Syreeta Badu Collection.

I was happy (as I always am) to see plus size women being celebrated, I would however have liked to see some even more curvy women in this competition , which I think has less to do with the event organisers and more to do with what the industry describe as plus size… but that’s a separate issue.

The finalists
The winner of Ms Curvaceous UK 2013
All in all I have a really enjoyable evening and am really looking forward to attending again next year, I’m going to be on the lookout for similar event… if anyone knows of any please let me know.

Definition Of Size, Art Exhibition- Preview

Bubbling with excitement about this event….

I have recently met a beautiful and lovely woman called Anita Bellamy, we have run into each other at a few of the recent plus size events. She runs a non profit organisation call ‘Plus Confidence In You’.
Anita is holding an Art fund raising event on November 30th which I’m really excited about, I haven’t been to an art exhibit since Logan Hicks was exhibiting in Soho last summer.

Being a plus size girl, I am a big fan of plus size imagery and fan art, at the moment I am loving bbw art by Eduardo Santos, who some of you may know on instagram as @edull_ardo who creates beautiful art on amazingly round and curvy cartoon women.

I am so excited to be attending an event that incorporates two things that I love so much.
I have my tickets sorted and am looking forwarding to a fun evening with people who are part of the plus size community and also general lovers of art.
Anita has put in a lot of work to get this evening together and has some fantastic sponsors including Evans, Yours Clothing and Lush Cosmetics.
There will be complimentary food and wine on the night as well as entertainment.

I encourage people to come along and have a fun night out in London, I for one am really looking forward to this.
